Evening,
Ive just installed some corbeau baja seats and their respective adapter plate.
I did some research and opted after discussions with the reps that i would go for the bracket that would raise the passanger side by an 1" and retain the tilt function and the one for the drivers side should have kept it standard height.
However as found out the seats are about the same height but i now sit higher- and tbh honest i cant have it! It wasnt the greatest spaces when i sat in the original seats but this is worse! Its quite picture now getting in and out!
Has anyone had any experiances of removing the sliders off the frames comepletly and fitting a fixing plate in place?
Or having something made up completely? Or does anyone know anyone that can make one for me?
I dont mind losing the slide function on the drivers side i currently drive with it all the way back as far as it will go any way?
I have a 2001 tj and have just fitted corbeau baja rs's. I may have to try and order a complete bracket now from the states and hope that it reduces the height back down.
Any help would be appreciated? I cant be the only one with the problem.
regards
Paul

When I fitted mine to my TJ I just welded the seats to the original frames..

I presume that you lost the slide function?
I just need to find someone that can fab up a seat bracket!

No, still got full movement, I basically removed the old seat from the frame and as the new seat bolt holes didnt line up i cut the stock studs off and welded the new seats to the frame..
