Title: Routing for the Serpentine belt Wrangler TJ 1997
Post by: Barron on July 17, 2013, 07:57:14 PM
Hi guys,

Anybody got a pic of the correct fitting for the serpentine belt on the 2.5litre 97 TJ?

I've seen the diagrams on Stu Olsens website but none of them are possible.

Mine has power steering but no air con. Where the air con pump would be is an idler pulley which accepts the ribbed side of the belt.

Am I right in saying that the water pump needs to turn anti-clockwise as it is "reverse" flow?

Do t you have the little white label that's normally on the Radiator?

Cheers Cockney Boy. Problem with this layout is that the alternator pulley and the idler next to it are practically the same height which means that the belt coming from the power steering pump touches the bottom of the idler next to the alternator.

Not sure if it's the same but this is the way the Early 4.0 RHD serpentine belt is routed...
