Seen loads of different opinions on this one.
Had the old bubbling in the expansion tank the other day. Still trying to get hold of one of the block test kits that check for hydrocarbons by changing the blue fluid to green when held over the expansion tank.
In the mean time I removed and tested the stat and the water pump ( spins freely, no play and no leak) and my radiator was well shot, so I bit the bullet and replaced it.
Ok, it may be the head gasket, but a bit of googling also throws the clutch fan into play.
When I took it off there is a fair bit of resistance when attempting to turn it by hand. Is this normal?
Any thoughts. ????
