A friend of mine just purchased a 4.0 petrol to play with and I had a chance to have a poke about. Has anyone ever seen a leaf spring vehicle fitted with these little additional coil
overs springs?
It looks like a very complicated and long winded method of botching some sagging springs to me.
-
That is uber crap
-
It's just a bit mind boggling that someone would go to all the effort to put location seats in for the springs, drill the leaf pack etc... all probably because they had two go-kart springs and didn't want to spend out on some leaves.
It is rather "special" to behold though.

Doesn't look particularly Complicated or Long Winded to me. I think Botch Job would suffice to describe this modification.

Saw something similar a few years ago at JEEPFEST was told it was for towing a caravan..
did look a better job though.

:iagree:

Bodge and it works!
Happy days.

I don't see why someone went to all the trouble to get the seating cups in the correct places, only to then anchor the springs with jubilee clips!
It just beggars belief the dogged commitment someone had to making sure their bodge way was the best way.

i'd have waited till theyd sagged fully n turned em upside down :icon_biggrin:

Whats supposed to happen when that mess comes loose and shreds the inside wall of the tyre?
Oh, that would be a heart stopping, trouser changing moment I guess.
I'd just love to see the MOT advisory for that.
IMO probably best to pull it out before it causes someone serious harm!
