Well, like I said, I may have been a Daft Dastard!
I've got myself in a pickle. I've grafted a 4.0 litre intake onto my 258 to change it to EFI.
The youngest lad and I have now got the trusty steed bolted together, well truth be told that happened ages ago. We have the matching ECU, distributor, sensors and loom all from the same donor '94 XJ and have relocated the CPS to the harmonic damper.
Electric fuel pump, filter, fuel pressure regulator etc are all new and working when power applied, but when we connect the whole shebang together with the ECU we get naff all.
We have rigged the solenoid to a push button but when we crank it over there are no signs of life, no spark, no ticking injectors and the fuel pump does not run.
Have we missed the fact that the ECU was coded to a key fob we dont have and is therefore still immobilised?
If so is there any way round this or do we have to find an ECU and key fob from another donor?

There was no immobiliser on the xj that ecu came from.

All the damn thing does is make a quiet buzzing noise when we power it up and we have no way of testing it for error codes as we didnt get the dash loom.
Any ideas before we Megasquirt it, or should we have just done that ages ago!
