Title: Blue touch paper lit, what's next?
Post by: eastryjeep on August 07, 2013, 09:16:07 PM
OK, I still can't get this 258 to start, and I'm not going back to a carb.
What I need to know is how to independently test all the sensors that a '94, 4.0 litre Auto XJ would have had as standard, as Im afraid I don't have a workshop manual.
For each of the following, can some kind soul(s) tell me what supply current to apply on what wire, and what is the acceptable output from the signal wire/terminal:-
MAP, Air Temp, Coolant Temp, Throttle Position, Lambda, Crank sensor and Hall Effect Distributor.
Thanks,
Nick.

Try these people...  http://www.splitsec.com/index.html (http://www.splitsec.com/index.html) they helped me with the supercharger on my jeep.

Thanks IOM but need to see if the sensors are toasted before going along that route.
Can anyone tell me how to check the CPS & TPS off the vehicle?
Also does anyone have a PDF of a workshop manual for a 94 XJ, PLEASE!

last time I done a tps it just needed a multimeter set to ohms then read it thru the full turn but it wasn't on a jeep oh and analogue meters better any dead spots are more obvious
