Post by: Mac tire on August 07, 2013, 09:20:19 PM
Hey guys n gals,

As above im a newbie so be gentle!!
I have a 99 XJ lwb in 2.5td,it was my dd til the price of diesel and the jeep thirst put an end to that, sooo now its my project.. This is a very tight budget project,so please keep that in mind when your reading this. I want to lift this badboy, from the yank forums the "illegitiment son" lift is the way im thinking of going, has anyone tried this?? What leaves did you use,L200's are nice and high, what you think??
Also,i want to swap out the steering wheel to a smaller "racing" type, purely due to the fact that im quiet talk and the steering wheel, whist going nutts, would hit my legs, any ideas where to get,or what other steering boss kits fit these bad boys...thanks in advance folks !!!

Mac

Normal XJ trick is to fit HD diesel springs to a petrol but as yours Is diesel unless the springs are shot or not HD you're there.
getting an old set of XJ springs take the first leaf ..the one with the eyes and cut the eyes off with disc cutter.....add as no 2 spring to your pack.....have a look and maybe add another......only downside is doing this will result in a hard ride...... If it lifts it you need some lift pucks for the front.
Alternatively Llama.co.uk import Rough Country and £300 or so gets you a 3and half inch lift..job done......
