Never mind.

Should have read past lock pick!

Thought you were thinking of taking up housebreaking!

Senior moment.

There's differences between radio types - low speed BUS and high speed from memory. Too much for my brain to take in - you can install a myGIG as an 'aftermarket' fit into a WK though. Frosty put one in his JK but I'm not sure how similar the two vehicle's systems are.

It's bursting my head too. I've got the my gig and its excellent but its got loads of features that are locked or modifiable however the only little black boxes I can find to do it are in the states and don't support uk spec units.

Having said that I've definitely read about a UK unit that was sorted and a while back seen kit on eBay to do the job ......

Just can't find anything now arrggghhhhh

Seems like you have to purchase a US spec radio, then try all this stuff on it..and hope it works!

Good luck.

It does seem that way. No way ill be buying another my gig !

All I wanted to do was art around with the cameras and a couple of other bits and pieces.

90% nosiness and intrigue lol

I did buy the lockpick kit from Coastal (via eBay), but regretted it since they don't provide support outside the USA.

Managed to get some support from the MyGig forums, but that seems to have gone now.  I do remember there was a European company who supplied the lockpick kits and support.

I bought the lockpick so I could fit a reversing camera without having to buy the expensive Jeep kit.  I also plan to add another camera at the front and possibly another one at the back, but just never got around to it yet.

The biggest problem with the MyGig system is the mapping data is from 2007, and there is no way to update it.  Not really a problem since I prefer to use TomTom.

Thanks ivanidea. Looks like we're along the same lines.

I guess it's the britcompany I've spotted on the past just can't find them now.

I experienced similar to yourself. Nice email from the US set up then once they realised I was outside the US a curt ,"that's not supported" ah well.

Which functions or bits and pieces did you get working ?

It's been a couple of years since I installed it, but the main reason I wanted the Lockpick was so I could have 3 cameras fitted.  So far, I have only fitted the reversing camera, but do intend to put one at the front, and possibly another at the rear, mounted above the brake light to be used as a rear view mirror (finding time seems to be the biggest problem).

And if I remember correctly, the Euro supplier was based in Italy.  Don't think I have the web address any more.
