XJ's just gone straight thru the MOT
TFFT
Have been advised that on full left lock (in 2WD) the NSF UJ tightens up slightly (wheel doesn't rotate smoothly).
Can someone advise how serious a problem this is - e.g. is the UJ in imminent danger of breaking up. Approx cost for a replacement? How easy to fit new one / do I need to pull the half shafts?
Thanks in advance.

i think you will find its a 297 uj and the cost depends on type you choose as replacement approx £40gbp or you could buy a complete shaft from somebody who has upgraded....and to change the shaft is relatively easy....
one for kd breakers i believe.

get the greasable ones, but you will need to keep it well greased.

I am fairly sure Lighthouse do greasable UJ's. Their details are in the suppliers section.

I have got most of my greasable UJs from MDG but that is because I can just drive round there. I know Lighthouse do the needle point grease gun attachment which I have found to be a god send, so I expect they will do greasable UJs.

I broke a greasable UJ in half and don't use them anymore. I use genuine Spicer ones, also available from Lighthouse.
