Title: XJ Steering Weight
Post by: Brynjaminjones on October 21, 2013, 11:51:53 AM
Morning Dastards,

A chat with a friend at uni today revealed that he has an '89 XJ in Portugal, and his first comment was that the steering is unbelievably light. Last year I drove a '96 XJ, and that had really really light steering too.
Compared to that, my '98 feels fairly heavy - this got me wondering, do the facelifts have heavier steering, or is something just not right with mine??  :003:

I have had a facelift and a non-facelift, and the steering is lighter on the facelift; however I put that down to having road tyres on it rather than off-road.

The steering box in earlier ones is different and gives lighter steering
