Title: Exhaust Cat

I have a GC WJ V8 4.7, where the front exhaust "y" pipes with the cats join into one it goes into a small cat section box, is it ok to remove cat this and replace it with a straight through section?

mine has one cat, mines a 99

Mines got the two cats in the down pipes then it connects into this single cat, just wondered if it would affect the running if removed?
