Title: what do we think to my wheels??

Got my ecco alloys powder coated at WH paint finishers Mansfield, £40 a wheel for acid dip, blast and 'coat. Your views?

Cheep as chips do they do any colour

The front two were proper pitted and they made a good job, they paint most colours but powder coat about half a dozen colours as they are more used to industrial metalwork.

It took almost 2 weeks for them to do my 5 alloys , complete tow bar and steering guard, I thought it was a little long but I'd rather they take their time and do a proper job. If you catch them with less work in it may be a bit quicker.

Good to see a recommendation.
This is probably a stupid question, but what are the advantages of powder coating over painting?

powder coating is stronger, but on the down side when it does get damaged it can hold in water and is very hard to repair.

paint on the other hand can be easily damaged but is a lot easier to repair

It is nice to see a recommendation and yup looks like a job well done and the wheels do look good in to the bargain

I have my Grand Cherokee CRD up for sale  and the alloys are in poor condition. I have a mobile wheel re furber coming up Monday to have a look at them. He is asking £40 a corner for a full refurb.

Cosmetically powder coating gives a smooth finish all over the surface but unless you have / pay for a shit hot painter there maybe runs or imperfections and wheels are hard to get right with all the nooks and crannies. I'll post some pics of the tow bar and steering guard so you guys and gals can take a butchers.
