HI thanks and sorry for joining for technical support but help would be appreciated.
i have a 2003 wj 2.7 crd. towed my horses all day went jumping, loaded up then bang turning over with no intention of starting. completely out the blue towed all day perfect etc no problems.
i had to get my horse and trailer recovered by a family friend and the AA out to pick me up.
I'm a mechanic but not been for very long so after some advice,
checked all fuses are fine
when turning over no fuel is being delivered to the filter housing, does anyone know if it has an in tank or low pressure fuel pump, if so is there a relay etc i should look out for. and theres half a tank of fuel.
help me!!!! :weep:
p.s spell check :O AWESOME haha

Hi Breezy,
fault code check would be first port of call - either with a ODB III reader - or failing that the 5 x key trick on and off and see what appears in the digital read out on the clocks.
Hoe many miles have you done ? - brittle plastic fuel lines or fuel pump itself comes to mind.
Cheers.

Hi there and welcome. If no one on Birtys can help may I suggest you look here for help http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f310/2-7crd-auxiliary-pump-1793913/
This is a US forum but there are a few Brits on there with the Jeep CRD with the Merc engine ie. your model.I have a CRD myself and use them when I need help.
The 2 posters in the thread I have posted Madder Than Max and AlfaItalia have been through the problem you appear to be stuck with. There is also the Australian forum http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/ There are many more CRD s in Oz than are in the UK and therefore much more info available.

p0620

-
forgot i had autodata
p0539 ac evaporator temperature senson circuit intermittent
p0403 egr circuit malfunction
p0340 camshaft position sensor a bank 1 circuit malfunction
p0620 alternator control circuit malfunction
p0700 transmission control system mil reg circuit malfunction
looks like camshaft position sensor fault is the most likely code causing problems here?
-
with that many codes check the connectors on the ECU for crap connections
but the camshaft sensor looks like thats a good start

Funnily enough had mine 13 months and although tempting fate apart from the 5th injector seal has been brilliant.

Not upsetting anyone mikey.
Just search Dutch, 2.7 CRD, problems, bugger, sh*t, seals, limp home, gearbox, black death, CPU, abs, black death again - or a variety of the aforementioned.
Cary on.

Never had to search as my CRD has behaved.Injector 5 seal was leaking when I bought it although I did not find out until after I had paid and driven home :011:
Mine is a 2 owner with fsh. I have owned 15+ Merc Sprinters so black death was no stranger. All that glistens is not Merc lol

If you haven't done it already, disconnect the battery for 30 mins (just make sure you have your radio reset code handy), hook it back up and try again. Amazing what that free trick will cure!
