Title: M/T's catching stabiliser bar

Discovered that Im getting steering vibration at very low speed on full luck due to my 31" M/T's catching the stabiliser bar (both sides) Is there a cure/fix?
Has anyone got advice/words of wisdom :-k  :umn:

I had the same problem on my cj, you will find a bolt at the back of the hub i think ( sorry not up on my terminology) :oops:  if you unscrew it it will reduce your turning circle and solve your problem. I am sure that someone will post the correct terminology.

Yep stew, thats pretty much what you gotta do. I had the same problem when i fitted 31" to my tj. Its simple to do there is just a bolt and lock nut on both hubs, the longer you adjust them out the smaller the turning circle you get. Just adjust them till when you are on full lock the tyres dont fowl the sway bar.

the lock nuts on my steering stops were welded to bolts

just a case of taking them out and putting a couple of washer behind them

I'd have tried to sort it myself but as I've got the mechanical abilities of a small furry rodent will get Westbury to sort it Thu when its in for its service

It's only 2x 15mm bolts
get yerself on a basic spannering course at the local college, to save you some dosh :P

Im still a complete disaster when it comes to these things (sadly) still 2 x15mm bolts - maybe even I have the skills :shock:

OK take the piss please...................I've not got a 15mm socket
So
Service at Westbury plus they can sort the steering stops out
Plus sort out a 1/2 decent socket set

From what I was told the doodads are the welded bits so two new thingies have been ordered (THink even I may call them washers...)
Even the mechanic was optimistic enough I could fit them myself

Phoned me today for my VIN number and parts are on order :lol: )

They didn't even have any washers in stock that would of done the job :?  :?

How much are these special parts that they have ordered for you anyway :cry:

Got sent special screws so used the old ones with the nut welded on and just like I was frequently told :cry:  put a washer each side and problem sorted in a few minutes
