Chaps,
CJ7 has been living outside for a month because my bl**dy builder cocked up on fixing my garage. Move her back in and gave her some dreadfully needed TLC.
The little frost we had nackered the battery so had to start off the WK yesterday.
Before you start saying Optima (aint got Optima ca$h) please some info on what Ah's - A's.
I know it takes quite a whollop to crank that 4.2 + the odd winching so what am I looking for ?
Also my 1 battery tray can only take a battery 27 cms. Max. wide.
Cheers

I've got a Numax 1000 cxv (or something like that) which I bought from Tanya, not expensive and fits in the CJ tray.
Starts a 360 OK and I winch occasionally, totally flattened it a few times and it still lives after 3 years, I do have a trickle charger though...

firstly moding the battery is VERY easy, I removed the upturn and made a frame from 1x1 angle with a plate base, after is was able to hold 2 large van batteries, best mod was to fit an battery isolator, adds to security and stops any drain when not in use.

Bosch Silver, S5 edition, a couple of sizes in that classification..3 year warranty and there should be one to fit straight in. S5 recommended for diesels and has lots of staying power.
The one in my TD6 Patrol is over six years old, has had winters of minus 25 and summers around 43 degrees, stood for a month at a time without starting and performs like I bought it yesterday.

As was said above by Paul.....Numax
www.tayna.co.uk
Get a 1000cca one cos most car batteries are 650 or 750
their website gives battery dimensions so that will help you with your choice :icon_super:
