Hi all, just had a letter from DVLA this morning notifying me of a recall issued for 2002/2003 Jeep Cherokee's, the reason given is that there is a possibility the ORC module may sustain damage following an electrical overstress condition. This damage could cause the airbag light to illuminate, followed immediately by an inadvertent deployment of the front airbags and/or seatbelt pretensioner!!. ORC being the occupant restraint control module. Anyone know anything about this?, thanks.

Take it to the dealership tell them to sort it and let them do their thing.

:iagree:

Dont forget to ask upfront if there will be any cost incurred to you.
I think many people have some not so fond memories of a certain brake recall where we had to cover the cost of the new pads!

anywhere you can check online? just got the jeep so dvla is sorting the v5, doubt the recall notice will get to us

There is (or at least used to be) a recall check thing on the US Jeep site. Not sure if it would list any export recalls though.
When I found out about the fuel level sender recall that applied to my 97 TJ, I phoned Jeep UK and was told to contact my local dealership who would check recall status and carry out any necessary work.
