I have just fitted 31" tyres.
I am a happy bunny.
But, the spare tyre won't quite fit.
It seems to fit in shape, but the bolts aren't long enough for a good attachment.
Is there a known fix for this?
Some way to extend the bolts, a cheap adaptor plate?
I'm sure I'm not the first to have this situation.

Use a wheel spacer

Hmm. Spacers on ebay seem to be more expensive than an wheel adaptor.
Any other ideas?

If you could replace the studs in the wheel carrier with some longer 1/2" UNF bolts, then you could just drop a load of 12mm washers onto each bolt to space the wheel away from the tailgate.

Or remove the rubber stops from the door. It's what I did to fit the 33/12.5/15.

I went to a local motor spares place & got some extended bolts. I think they were for a new shape mini.
Essentially, you screw these onto the existing bolts & theerby lengthening the thread you put the spare on, moving it away from the tailgate.
They look a bit like this but the solid looking end is open & threaded to match the current bolts. They screw over your existing bolts.
This is just for an example, you need to make sure you have the right threads obviously

That sounds like something my mechanical skills can handle.
I'll see if that fixes the problem later.

I left the rubbers in place so you have the original damping in place

If the tyre fits without the bumpers, I'll add new smaller bumpers.
