Remember the mighty Grand 4.0 that I had last year........well sold it to the Brother in Law who loves it............
Onlyprob it had one set of keys and one fob........
Yup you guessed he's lost them......
Where do you go and what to do guys???? someone must have had this dilemma before......
like to get it fixed for him as poor sod will be redundant and off on Feb 14th and his company Beemer will go back :jpshakehead:
-
I have blank Grand keys and can cut copy keys, may not help you as I need one to copy but once you got one....
-
thanks Bruce will keep that in mind.......
-
Not sure myself but does the replacement (thinking ebay) FOB need coding by a dealer or is it a DIY job.
Age & model info needed Jez to assist ...... calling doctor Mike :icon_winkle:
-
According to the manual for my ZJ, the codes of the replacement FOB's have to be entered into the Passenger Door Module using a DRB Scanning Tool and the proper Diagnostics Procedures Manual.
-
Dealer programs fob .
25-30 quid maybe??
-
if you have 2 keys you can program them you self
but no key then it's a stealer or man with correct computer
Sorry mate
-
Thanks guys...... Jeeze thank feck it wasn't me that lost the keys :hysterical:
-
£75 is what I paid to have a second fob programmed at a Jeep dealer. It is less than 15 minutes work but worth the price tbh.
-
Why not find someone breaking one and get the BCM, locks & keys then do a swap?

I know but they always have the excuse " yes but the programmer costs so many ££££" I was going to buy a universal programmer but there is always the warning " this may not be compatible for your vehicle"

Try a local auto electrics place, one by me has all manufacturer software & does servicing too, £50 an hour labour rate, worth a look locally :icon_winkle:
-
thanks for all the help guys......... Another example of Birtys solidarity :icon_super:
guess what??? he found them last night wedged in the runners of the drivers seat of the company Beemer, that he was just about to give back.
So...... I've got to get him to get a spare or 2 cut and another fob programmes now......
-
I can bring some blanks and my 12v cutting M/C to Breakout if he can wait that long
-
thanks Bruce I'll ask him later today........
seem to remember getting a key cut for the 1 Ton
back in the day when it had doors.... :hysterical:..
I went to one of those heel bar key cutting places that had to send out for a blank and then on another day I had to take the original key in ...... About £15 I think.......
just got to track down a blank fob for programming........sure there is a trick with drivers door open and ignition on and some crazy assed procedure... For DIY fobs. Will have to research....
-
£15 FFS... a rip off
10 blanks cost me £11, think the most expensive non chip keys I get are the old GM keys (same as CJ) and they are £16 for 10 blanks.
if it easier I can post you the blanks to get cut locally.
-
You don't want to know how much a new WK key costs :die:
-
fob on the bay is being bid on and found the Jeepforum instructions for doing the fob with door open stuff......result.....
And Yes thanks Bruce could I have a couple of blanks that we can get cut....... Jaffacakes beer at Breakout or whatever....... Will PM you.....
-
That doesn't work with a ZG, you need a DRBIII scan tool.
-
which type do you need? should be the 'triangle' key but best check
