Title: Remote locking annoyance
Post by: Brynjaminjones on February 11, 2014, 07:37:12 PM
Firstly I must apologise that all of my new threads seem to be very mundane issues...

Now...
When having trouble with my exhaust manifold the XJ was left for a week with the battery disconnected. Now that it's up and running again I've noticed that the indicators no longer flash when I lock/unlock it using the remote.
Is there anyway to get them to blink again??

Some more details...
It's misbehaved after having the battery disconnected for long periods of time before - once it had a flat battery for ages, then when it was charged it started beeping the horn every time you locked it.
The next time it had a flat battery it stopped beeping again once it was charged.

It's got the UK standard May & Scofield alarm.

It's only a very minor irritance, but I'd like the blink back! :003:

Hi Bryn. This may be the Claret talking but I seem to recall that I had a similar problem. If I'm correct, it's caused by the remote and immobilser getting out of sequence. Experiment by clicking the lock button several times which will  get  you back to syncing them. hth

press the open button 3 times quickly and it will beep and flash, do the same with the lock button and it to will beep, repeating will turn off the beep

I couldn't get these things to work unfortunately, but I did finally (after literally years of trying) manage to get the horn to beep when it locks!
