Title: Slight Knocking on WK
Post by: jay140285 on March 05, 2014, 11:07:03 AM
Morning Chaps,

On the WK there is a slight knocking, feels from front end and worst when on right lock.

Most apparent when easing off the accellerator around a right bend you can actually hear the thud thud noise, on the motorway you can feel it as well like a minor vibration.

Not had a look myself as yet as literally only just become more apparent the last couple of days and I have it today and done a motorway run in it and some lanes.

Thoughts??

Cheers

J.

I had similar and it was the rear CV joint on the front prop. I got a whole new prop from driveshaft parts online for less than £100 - sure it was a mistake but they never got in touch or changed the billed amount.

I also had clunks from lower ball joints. I still have slight clunks and it is probably upper ball joints and / or anti rollbar bushes. It could even be the bushes on the front diff. Saying that, it's not that bad and I'm not going to change anything until it's definitely worn out.

Chaps,

Slight tapping from rear end near side (sound like as if you have a chunk out of your tire) only when rolling, disappears under load.

Suggestions ?

Well mine was a loose bloody wheel. 3 nuts were only hand tight.
