Title: Grand Cherokee 2.5 TD wont start

at the turn of the key it races over but wont start, injector one is new and heaters are working. there is also plenty of white smoke! Any tips etc are welcome...

As it's dieseasal, check to ensure fuel is getting to the engine (I assume it is, due to the white smoke), along with the glow plug. Can you bump start it?

That sounds a bit like low compression...has the new injector and glowplug been seated in properly?

I can identify with that! It was just a long shot anyway...based on a similar experience with an old Caterpillar bulldozer.

check the injector spill pipes as these get lose over age allowing the fuel to back track to the tank making it hard to start
