Does anyone know if Khumo (Kumho) tyres are the size they say they are....ie is a 35 a 35 and not a 34?
Also are they a hard compund or soft, I am thinking of fitting a set to Vikki's Suzota and want to know what the ride quality will be like (I think the simex's that are on it are way to hard for the weight of the car).
Anybody with any experiance of the Kumhos please help or advise.
Thanks
Richard

One of the guys on JeepClub has been running Kumho MTs for a few years, remember talking to him about them. He belives them to be a softer compound than BFG MTs as they appear to wear faster. Hope that helps.

Well i hav'nt much experience with them, always bfg's mts previously!
But i have just had a set fitted around a month ago and so far all i have done is some greenlaning.
First impressions are good, and i like them
They seem to perform well on the road and off. I would say they are possibly a softer compound than bfg's.
As to size, i'm not sure any tyres match up to there quoted sizes, but these do come up a tiny bit below.
If you do get some, make sure you get the latest mt design, here's a pic of mine before i fitted them:

Trent
those Kuhmos you have look a little bit like the Pro Comp X-Terrains. Do they feel better than the BFG MTs on road?

Woody,
I've only covered a couple of hundred miles on them so far, but yes they do seem better on road (bit of a drone over 40mph,but no worse than the bfgs) also i noticed while doing some greenlaning they seem to clear well and pull out of ruts quite good!

They are the new KL71's they only do them up to a 33 at the moment, they are the ones I fancy but I need 35's for Vikki's truck.

How much were they Trent? Look kinda interesting ProComp/Simex type'o'things...

dave,
you should be looking at pitbull tyres.......if that sort of tyre is for you speak to waggers about pro comp type tyres and all will make sense.......remember my complaints about them......in the mud it was like driving with four inner tubes for grip...."fn" useless
remember the bomb hole me with pro comp waggers in old faithful on bfg need i say more??????

if you are off roading the softer option is better :) and if you are raceing some one (off road ) and you can turn your tyres round u will have a nice sharp edge to bite into the surface.

Get your bit about rallying but for off roading soft = airing down I reckon
-
i just go sqwishy sqwishy is good
-
what you are looking to do is get down to the hard surface not to wide a tyre look at disco's /landys ok they dont look as good but they do the trick. ok im not to up on bog racing
-
yup thats a great plan but the truth is if there aint no hard underneath you are up to ya ass in shit or mud in my world as i see it you want a the tallest widest tire you can get ya hands on to maximise floatation and tractive effort on the hard stuff

Its tread pattern in 4x4 Rally man
You take a WRX on snow very narrow tyre with tread, tarmac road and dry conditions wide tyre sod all tread
Get used to your cherry mon and come to a Birty event..

Done a little with the camel trophy boys weekend interesting, but not for me now they go through some muck all winch and things not my cup of tea. Now that landy on top gear the bowler thing now would love to have a go in that. Now when we were rallying the Simonite sisters were rallying just got to know them and was going to try one of there dads off roaders out and she got done for dd never seen them since.
Shame.
seen some of the mud you lot go through, well try to not for me like a bit of speed when competing .

I've Kumho muds that are similar to the BFG pattern, they're 31's but are a touch smaller and the compound is way softer than BFG's.
