Spanner Doods,
Picking up the Fabia from TC next Sunday, muppet very excited.
Will stick it in my garage for some TLC together with him.
I told muppet to get some gear, oil filter, air filter etc.. got oil.
I see that the oil filter is an insert only ?? so not the metal screw off, chuck away, and screw new one on :017:
Anybody got experience with that ?

German/sweedish and europarts are the cheapest for spares but i gather you might have worked that out.
Nothing wrong with the insert filters, i think they are easier and saves hassle with chains, screwdrivers and fumping of oil on the drive when a filter wont undo

Just don't forget that big rubber seal!! You'll know what I mean when you see it.

I have had an Audi A3 1.9 tdi for 18 months as a cheap daily drive, it goes tomorrow but has been a great car and engine. Oil filter is easy to change, nothing complex and makes sense as soon as you open it. Eurocarparts are great for servicing bits, really cheap.
It's a good car and he's a lucky son, I hope it goes well. Let me know if you have any questions cos it's basically the same car.
