Friday to Sunday
-
I'll be there for the weekend! :)
-
could be a pissabolity
-
Conundrum
Work has gone ballistic so have not had time to put new seal in NS rear, pissin oil on the brakes so will never pass mot.
Or.... sort some feckin tow bar lighting and stick bleu on a trailer and sleep in the WK. Driving up in comfort has its ++'s and is appealing as well + no fear of breaking anything.
-
can I bring the Y60 Patrol? or will I be forced to brung the V8?
-
Wilo you can bring what you want, not a problem mate :icon_super:
-
:imwitstupid: even Darth Lardy is allowed in :003:

Why not drop it in a garage and get the seal done and get MOT - be done in a couple of days for not too much £££ I'm sure.
Or hire a trailer but don't sleep in the WJ, they are never as comfortable or warm as they should be.
Just get there! :icon_winkle:
-
Looking to be there, but will be a last minute call for me due to work!
-
I think one might grace you with my presence
actually looking forward to it greatly
all weekend and may even camp
-
Excellent chapsbe good to see you both there, I think its probably my favorite site :icon_winkle:
Clayt, is Mark up & running with a 4x4 yet after selling old faithful ?

-
Saturday and Sunday for the Jones's....
OK to arrive mid morning, may need to take a few breaks for fuel (!) and recover from the CJs longest journey to date??
-
Now have MOT so def in the xj for the weekend see what I can break :lol_hitting:
-
got an mot today on the surplus special needs a shakedown after a couple of years of the road no promises but would be nice
-
Get shaking then Mr Pitt :003:
-
One way or another I'll be there. Weather permitting a fly-by on the Yam or failing that in the WK.
It'll be for the Sunday only. Will be good to see some of the regulars on here and put faces to names and see their rigs in action.
Left it all too late to bring the CJ I'm afraid. :icon_redface:
Dave if it's gonna be WK do you want to ride shotgun ?
Cheers :icon_super:
-
5 days and nights left Dutch, it's more fun with stress and no sleep and then driving an untested vehicle :icon_twisted:
-
untested vehicle
That being the leading statement James ...... no mot and with present work load no way of getting one B4 Friday.
-
I'm just being a dick, it will be good to see you however you make it. I can have a nose at the WK if you come it that too.
-
Kev, can you not frame the mindy down for the day. I am just chasing a set of replacement 31's for the ZJ ready for Saturday
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

no not mauling the merc dragging the mindy
-
If you want jump in the passenger seat Dutch, no problems there, just not pushing it since the power is not there, cater carb will be in the bin as soon when i can sort out the new toy from Bubba
-
i am gonna have a nose if there are any other odd cj bits left for ya foc on any thing i find lurking

Hi Dave, didn't realize you were taking the CJ up. It's a loong old slog in a CJ, been there - done that. I'll opt for the Yam or WK since its a Sunday only affair. Cheer M8
-
Finally managed to get Saturday evening off work - now I can be there to pester you lot without having to worry about calling in sick :003: :003:

whats on the menu sat night? All things being well i should be there sat avo/eve ready for some playing in the worlds longest car ever made the next day :greggmo:
-
We've ordered pizza in the past so that's an option. Wheeling a LWB vehicle is definitely interesting and yours is 25% longer than my XJ.
I've ordered good weather :greggmo:
-
Mmmmmm sun & pizza 8-)
-
working in Bournemouth the weekend :banghead: :banghead:
may pop by on the way back
-
Go for it. Give the trial ago in the work wagon!

Not that this helps, but i thought the M3 went to Southampton in which case..
YOU ARE GOING THE WRONG WAY!!!!.
A Toyota diesel powered CJ6 that's what you need pal :003:

If anyone can get my goodies from Dutch to CF for me it would be helpful - don't think they will fit in with Lord time tj

At the bar and look at what they have!!! Mmmmmm Black pudding scotch egg

Just having a full english
id take it back and ask where the rest is :icon_biggrin:

Thanks Dutch, my headache is just subsiding after the journey home , went through 3 litres of atf this weekend, might be time for a gearbox rebuild, and there's the front axle that needs doing, oh never mind where's the wine. I'll just keeping topping it up til winter and do a proper job then.
-
Great weekend. Hope everyone's got back ok, Damians waiting for recovery as the trailer died at Shrewsbury. Has Gaz made it back yet with overheating? And Abe for that matter?

that sexy roof rack is too sexy for an xj :003:
-
Got back fine, now unloaded and parked up. Had a great weekend, tested the latest mods and pleased none of them fell off :lol_hitting:
Shame people had problems on the journeys too and from but fingers crossed it's nothing a bit of tlc won't cure for the various issues.
BD - Paul had an impressive twin fan and shroud setup from a Mondeo that keeps his V8 cool.
Sent from my MZ604 using Tapatalk
-
Yup, just had that very twin fan set up fitted with the new engine :die:
I'm banking on mucky rad etc :eusa_clap:
-
Got back safely (eventually), and under my own steam - sometimes literally!
Cheers Jay and Sarah for showing me just how much mud the XJ can get through, James for guiding me around the trials that I never thought I'd get through, Gaz for his helpful advice and very generously letting me drive the truck, and everyone else just for providing an amazing weekend!
It was good to see you all, meet some new faces, and I can't wait until the next one I can afford to attend! :icon_super: :icon_super: :icon_super:
-
Glad you got it home Bryn. Thinking about the muddy radiator problems made me remember I used to carry a Hozelock sprayer to clean the Jeep before driving home.
-
Thanks to James and Gaz for organising paperwork etc. Great weekend on a great site, fun times. I will put my hands up for the Zuki, driver error. Trailer got recovered eventually think it will get weighed in now!

What happened to the trailer then?
-
Tonight, I shall mostly be going in search of the TJ's engine & anything else under the bonnet with the aide of a pressure washer :greggmo:
Good fun was had at Harptree, the black pudding scotch eggs with runny yolks were a culinary masterpiece, great site, good to see folks turn up just to say hello after unplanned breakages trying to get there.
Cracking weekend, just a slightly longer than planned trip home :icon_super: .... but if thats the only hiccup, I can deal with that
Thanks for coming to play folks :icon_super:
-
The rear suspension unit on the near side detached it's self from the chassis. Result one fried tire and evidence the chassis has had it's day.
-
I'll have the hitch off it if you don't have plans for it!
As Gaz said, it was great to see people turning up just to say hello & point and laugh at us doing stupid stuff. Looking forward to Wagtail now and hoping to see less breakages for people on the journey there.
-
Got home to find Tesco valetters have cleaned the Jeep :icon_super:
Took 2 blokes 40 mins & still only charged £10 ..... even blacked the tyres :hysterical: :hysterical:
Just gotta pick a few lumps off & its sorted :icon_jook:
-
What how was that one wangled
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Somebody feeling a little bad I suspect but shit happens :icon_super:
£10 probably came out of the man draw but frankly I dont care ...... marvellous result :icon_jook:
-
Great to see everyone, talking of everyone, where was everyone?
Quite surprised by the patrols capability, its reassuring to know that you can boot it and axles won't break :)
-
I say chaps jolly good fun w/end what
trip back was interesting
decelerate and the truck slewed left accelerate and lane change to the right - bloody frightening
I thought rear anti roll bar - ohh no
t'was the far side lower control arm with half a bolt still in it the other half was resting against the shock mount (thanks heavens)
it would have been interesting if it had fallen out
This brings the trailering even closer
Regards Tim
-
Trailering is for the weak, man up and drive it Tim! :icon_super:
-
Hell yea! And get a ZJ lol.
