Title: Oil pressure.
Post by: YT on May 09, 2014, 10:15:03 AM
Here's the symptoms.
Jeep parked up for a few days, starts no problem, every once in a while there's very little oil pressure showing, drive it for 5 mins, stop and restart after a few minutes and the pressure comes up to where it should be.
Oil pressure sender at fault ?
Oh, and while I'm here, the electric mirrors have stopped working last night, worked fine the last time I used them. Fuse, or is there a know issue with the mirrors ?

Mirrors are sometimes where the loom passes through door.

Don't think them electrical senders are 100% reliable.

Oil pressure sender is a common fault, been there done that got scared when it dropped to the floor  :icon_eek:

Maybe a fuse but isnt there a door control module thingymebob that suffers from brocken wires to it in the door ?

More knowledgeable types will be around later.

pressure senders fail when the wind blows or last forever. there are two types so make sure you describe the location correctly if ordering from lighthouse. your jeep will be the remoted rather than off the block, and possibly a two wire(?).

the thread if i remember is 1/8th BSPT, i was looking at a different make just for ease in sourcing but sold the jeep before i found one.

Cheers, just wanted to confirm it was the sender, just never feel comfortable when there's no pressure showing :) I'll get the mate to Check the fuses and inside the door.
