Title: 360 carb - 2 barrel 2100mc
Post by: djrr6 on May 28, 2014, 07:51:02 PM
I've been looking through the other posts and can't seem to find a thread for alternative carbs for the 360.

I have got 2 mc2100 carbs with the engines however both have got significant parts missing so rather than rebuild I wondered if there was alternative units people had already tried prior to putting the engine in?

Holley Truck Avenger is a fave in the US......designed so they don't do the starve and flood thing on severe climbs and descents.

If you can get to grips with the tuning......edelbrock Quadrajet.....loved by old rednecks who sometimes fit them in reverse to avoid the over fuelling starvation thing.
Otherwise known as Redneck Injection.....

I have a 670cfm truck avenger on my 360 in a cj5.  Nice carb as long as your not scared of buying petrol

I'd rebuild the 2100. Supposedly a great carb for the 360.

"WAY too much carb for my 16 YO daughter"

Just add a parking lot full of brand new cars and a bottle of Tequila  :098:

Ah bulldog the talk of karma sounds good!!!

Well I am still waiting for lighthouse to call me back about the t18 gearbox so I might jog their memory whilst asking about a carb as well

The 2100 looks like it could handle the job but both have choke and parts of throttle body missing so by the time I rebuild it would be same price as new!

Decided the time has come to give my arse a kick and finally rebuild this year so body tub gone for spraying and I'm rebuilding one of 360s as we speak to put it all together and add lots of fuel

I went 4bbl because a 2bno 2100 carb was about the same price as a truck avenger

There is an edelbrock from a sbc 350 going cheaply on fleabag at the mo however if either of you fancy selling your spare stock of inlet manifold or carb then there is a smll pot of hidden from wife cash purely for my jeep rebuid that I would happily part with!
