Title: Serpentine Belt change
Post by: prozac on April 25, 2006, 02:48:04 PM
Any advice?
How do you get it tensioned back up?
If anyone living near Coventry fancies..........

It's a bit of an arse to get at, but easy enough.

There should be a sticker on top of the rad. showing the way to route it.

Tension on the later XJs is adjusted via the alternater mounting.

Lucky bastards with pre face lifts have a dedicated spring loaded tensioner!

Don't fret lads!!!
I've done it!!!!
On my own!!!
And I've still got all my knuckles!!!

The adjuster on the alternator made tensioning it a doddle.

feeding it through the engine bay was ... entertaining

Took 40mins start to finish.

One other thing, I seem to water squirting out the airfilter.....

Only joking

Thanks for your help.

Right what's next on the list????
