Morning all.
I recently had some issues with my rear wiper not working and got a replacement motor. I then discovered that the arm had a different shaft so I got a new arm and gave it a try. Well to cut a long story short, the new motor does a 360 degree wipe...... As a result it is useless as you can imagine.
I visited a local breaker who had another motor and tried it by connecting it to the wiring but it didn't seem to want to do anything except make the occasional clicking noise and jumped a couple of times. I don't now know if the motor was no good or if there is some control element that controls the motor that I am unaware of?
Can anyone please offer any advice?

No idea but I do have a workshop manual with wiring diagrams if that's is going to help you in any way.

Hi James. Thanks very much. I got the file.... Huge isn't it? I have spent the last xxxxx hours looking at it and have concluded that the best way to trouble shoot this is with the special software, so I have put my meter away and will have to try contacting my local Jeep specialist :(

Just to conclude...... I stripped down my original wiper motor and found the control board was covered in a blob of grease that had fallen down from the worm drive gear. I cleaned it all up and reassembled it and tested it on the loom. Worked it did :ace:
I had managed to break the brittle plastic thread on the shaft, where it secures through the skin of the tailgate, so even though it worked it was useless. I then called the local breakers that had a motor that had not worked when I tried it last week and arranged to go and try it again. The motor still did not work but I decided to buy it for spare parts and he sold it to me for scrap..... I got home, stripped down both assemblies and married the new drive with my motor and off it went. It is now back into the car and working correctly. I now have a 2005 motor married to a 2007 drive shaft (this is the smaller, tapered end where the arm fits) and all is fine with the world. Thanks for the help guys :icon_jook:
