Title: Tyreseal, anyone use it?

Just found a link to these guys, product looks really good and very impressive and was wondering anyone is using it.
Would be nice not to have that HUGE spare in the back :)

Tyre seal stuff is OK, but it won't work on anything more than a nail or thorn hole.  You get a cut in the tyre wall off road and you're still gonna need that HUGE spare in the back. :wink:

Hmmm true, going to get it done anyway as it looks like I'm going to be hobbling around on crutches till oct/nov time even getting a normal puncture would be an issue 8(

Did youw atch the video on their site oit being tested? very impressive, they say it will fix a 12mm hole in a lorry tire or a 6mm in a road tyre, as it was designed for the military it makes sense as those two sizes coincide with standard ammunition quite nicely :)

Also watch out for bad wobbles until your tyres warm up, If I remember right, this is the stuff that lines the inside of your tyre, but overnight it all slops to the bottom of the tyre, and on cold mornings, it takes a while to warm up and spread about nicely, and of course, once it creates a wobble, then it stays and you have to travel for a while at lower speeds (less than 15mph spings to mind) in order to get it to sort itself out.

Just thought I'd post a follow up, I had sealant put in by http://www.supersealessex.co.uk/ (http://www.supersealessex.co.uk/) really nice bloke turned up only took about 20-30 mins and that was with me gabbing to him.
First time I took it out straight after there was a very slight wobble, by the time I'd finished the trip out (about 15 miles) it was perfectly smooth and has been ever since.
All their work is warrantied so any problems and it's sorted.

Also the stuff is totally inert when the tyre needs replacing or a large hole fixed the stuff can be washed out with water.

So far, recomended.

Must have missed this the first time around.......

Sounds good, but I have a few questions that don't seem to be answered on the website:-

1) If you have a puncture, and remove the object as per the website instructions, then drive the tyre as instructed, will it be completely safe up to the maximum speed rating of the tyre for the life of the tyre?

2)  In the above scenario you will suffer some air loss when you remove the object.  If the sealant fills everything then that will include the valve stem - so how do you air-up the tyre again?

3) Most importantly for folk who regularly air-down their tyres before off-roading - won't the sealant just fill up the valve stem each time you try to air-down?

you will not be able to air down......quite like the idea of "monkey spunk" but not for off road vehicles.

1. Yes the tyre will run up to maximum speed quite happily.

2. Nope no airloss, it's an almost instant seal.

3. You can still air down fine, if you do get any in the valve as your airing down just pop some air back in to clear the valve.

The stuff dosn't full the whole tyre he put about a litre in each, it spreads around the outside so you should never really get any near or on the valve apart from when it's going in.

If you really want to be sure, drop the guy an email I asked loads of q's via email and when he was here and he was extremly helpfull.
