Title: 98 TJ Sound Bar
Post by: suppersready on May 10, 2015, 09:59:06 PM
This has started to sound very distorted even at low volumes ( no bass, on off etc, effects both speakers ) I have checked the wires in the back of the radio and the plug up the passenger role bar where it connects into a larger loom and all seems ok ... Can anyone give me any pointers on what may be causing this ?.

Cheers ....

Front speakers work fine so I don't think its the radio unit/amp etc and I hav'nt had the system anywhere near full volume to knack the speakers ... I suppose I could run additional wires from the unit to the speakers to isolate the factory wiring to possibly eliminate and take it from there  :017: was just hoping for a quick fix .

Turn the balance all the way to one side, see if it gets better. Then try the other side.

If it's definitely both sides, unlikely to be speakers and narrows yours search on the wiring to something shared.

Have you got another head unit you can plug in to test it? That's what I'd do first as it only takes 2 minutes.

Same either side ... I'm gonna take a look at gne sound bar connections as next possible cause .
Cheers anyways chaps ...
