Post by: shirleythesquid on June 03, 2015, 07:39:29 PM
Right, some dumb question s for all you experts out there. First of all if install a shackle relocation kit is it going to affect my ride height, secondly will I have any issues wthe shackles catching if I use stock shackles? Finally (probably the first question I should ask) do I actually need one?  :017:

Longer shackles allow, the spring to flex IE shorten and, lengthen if you see what I mean.
Most lift kits have a longer shackle, kit, supplied .
BUT a longer shackle IE 2inches longer than stock will only raise the Jeep 1"

OK, my exact problem is I have installed a new set rough country 4" springs in the rear of my Jeep  but it sits too high with the long shackles, I installed the original shackles and  it rides and sits a lot better, however I can see how the original shackles are restricted and thought the relocation kit could solve this with out messing with the ride height.

Think you might find the springs will settle in a short while. Carrying a load or two will help.
