Title: Serious diff issues!
Post by: terratology on December 23, 2015, 05:08:53 PM
My front diff is pretty much roasted, it's been howling for a while but it's really beginning to sound like a jump jet and sending vibrations through various parts of the car. The problem is I need it for work so am wondering if I could remove the prop and/or driveshafts as a get me by until I can get around to fitting a new axle hopefully in the next few weeks? I have the quadra-trac transfer box and it's only used on road......

yes and yes. BUT you will need to split the d/shafts at the ujs and reinstall them without the shafts. they hold the bearings together
