Title: N45 Recall Notice
Post by: Sooty Si on April 04, 2016, 05:22:07 PM
N45 Recall Notice (the one for the fuel tank fire risk)...has anyone had it done? I'd heard about it and know my '96 JGC hasn't had it done according to the website, but today I actually got a letter through from DVLA and FCA informing me of it. All booked in now at Paragon in Lincoln.

Hiya
Ive had both my grands done no probs.
In my case all they did was change the toe bars and put brand new in place at no charge.
If you dont have a toe bar then they will weld or bolt another xmember in behind the tank to protect it!
They will check it first, tell what wants doing then book it in, if its a toe bar they will have to order it then fit it later.
hope thats what you wanted to know!!

cheers Ged

OK, cheers all! I've got a towbar so, whatever! If they change it, that's cool! If not, that's cool too!

I spent two hours at the Jeep dealer for this, just to be told that they couldn't fit anything because we have an LPG kit. :banghead: I'm sure that's not true as I've seen plenty of LPG ZJs with tow bars. I also offered to pay the extra to get an upgrade from the new cross member to a tow bar, but that just confused them.

At least it got a free wash, which was actually the main reason I took it in at all!

Mines booked in for this Thursday evening managed to get a courtesy vehicle out of them only downside is I fitted a Witter towbar from the scrappy last Saturday and Monday I had the recall notice through dunno wether the Witter towbar will pass or not if it doesn't will they let me have the old one back once it's removed as I can make it fit my sand rail
