Looking at getting a kit under the TJ but don't want to go mad! Thinking maybe 2-3" replacing the control arms too!
Any suggestions as what will be best? I will be doing light off-roading so just want a bit of clearance for flex without wrecking the road driving.
Thanks,
-
Old Man Emu.

Skyjacker budget, what more do you need?
-
I have heard that OME is good! Expensive though??
I've heard of Sky Jacker but no real reviews of it tbh!
I used to run rough country on my old Cherokee, it was a cheap and cheerful kit which did the job but I wanted something a bit better on this one.

Have a chat with David at Llama 4x4, he offers lift kits to suit most budgets, he also sells the flexi arms.
If your doing 'light off roading' I personally wouldn't think you need flexi arms.
What size/style of tyre are you going for?

I have a 2" Old Man Emu lift with a 1" body lift on my TJ. Works for me.

Fox coilovers :003:
I didn't pay for them though
Probably a decent 2-3" lift is the best bet, bigger gets tippy and if done cheap like Rough Country can get really wobbly. Old Man Emu, Clayton, Rubicon Express are good

:iagree: Rubicon are the dogs had a long arm on mine for 12 years now
You need a strong track bar on the front for a long arm

I'll be looking at running 35x12.5x R15 simex tyres.
Haha James!! Are you saying you want to give me some fox coil overs for free!? ;-)
That's exactly why I don't want to go too high because I don't need it.
I'll have a look at the rubicon then. Where did you get the strong track bar?

new RE stuff is made on the cheap and not the quality they were 12 yrs ago

As I'm looking for clearance! Does anyone use tube fenders? If so what have you got and have any of you attempted to make your own?

was at 6" of lift when i had my cherokee, combination of clayton suspension and std parts, was short arm but 4 link long arm would have been better on a lower lift and bigger bup stops
