Title: WJ window regulator - where to buy

Has anyone got any suggestions for where I can buy a window regulator for a 2003 WJ? Mine self destruct every few years and the places I've normally bought from in the past have all stopped selling them because, well, they self destruct and then people claim on warranties which is apparently a bad business model  :icon_rolleyes:

Any pointers would be gratefully received!

I don't know how alike they are to ZJ regulators but I stumbled across the following thread this week when searching for something else...

the later type, where the carrier is all plastic are the ones to get, you'll need to swap/change the plugs over and I think re-drill a motor mounting bolt hole.
I trawed ebay for mine, came from gloustershire I think.

Thanks JJ, I'll look into if there's a way to do something similar with mine. From memory when this happened last time, the plastic at one end of the regulator breaks and then when you run the motor the cables get pulled into the plastic drum and get all twisted up so it might not be the same, but a good starting point.

Cheers Daggie, could you clarify what you mean by the later type...are there two different models of regulator on the WJs or did you mean something like retrofitting a WK regulator? Any chance you have where you bought it from in your bay history?

Rockauto list them about £35-45 depending which manufacturer/door you want. plus a Birties discount if it still applies.

I don't know which one you want, but  2002-2005 is the ones to get
this is the older type, the window carrier is metal with the plastic bit that breaks.
