Title: oils required
Post by: jeepp on March 21, 2018, 10:57:11 AM
I have a 3.0L crd 2005 with quadradrive 2.

Was thinking of changing oil in front and back diff, transferbox and gearbox.

So what what do you use ? Quantity? Cost?

Just done engine they recommended 5-30 fully synthetic?

Cheers

A friend of mine who owns a WK diesel with QD2 uses the following: Amsoil 75W140 for both diffs (good for 50K miles or 80 kilometres) minimum) and fills until the fluid comes out of fill plug, uses Mobil 424* for transfer box until fluid come out of the fill plug and gearbox uses 4-6 qts of Fuchs ATF 4134**

*WK's with QD2 require only Mopar fluid or any other fluids with similar characteristics (Mobil 424). Uses of other fluids such as gear oils and ATF will wear out the clutch packs in the transfer box.

**Always check cold and hot levels of dipstick when changing transmission fluid. Using an OBDII scan tool will easily tell you the temp of the transmission when changing the fluid.
