Title: Jeep 55 plate WK series 3.0 l diesel
Post by: macabethiele on August 30, 2018, 03:00:39 PM
The spare key for our newly purchased Jeep WK series does not work, new battery & soft key pads fitted. Buttons click but not doing anything.

Is there a DIY re-teach for the Jeep type key ?

Our old Mercedes had a similar problem just had to go through a series of step with the ignition on & using the indicators to do the re-teach.

I see nothing in the 05 WK FSM that doesn't require a reader to check SKREEM (Sentry Key Remote Entry Module) codes and program keys.

I have just ordered a spare blank key from the US at around $95 (quoted £240 for the key alone in the UK) and the local jeep dealer has quoted £60 for programing. I will need to also get the key cut.

Spare Key sorted - bought a cheap remote fob case from e-bay as rubber part was shot. Then took key to a local repairers they charged a very reasonable £35 inc VAT to repair it a firm called Electronic Services (Derby) - they have moved to Burton - fixed same day !!
