I need to replace the rear tailgate struts on our Grand Cherokee - I sourced some from our local motor parts store but they are a completely different attachment so did not buy them as they were a ball end not held on with a Torx screw.
Do I have to buy genuine Jeep to get the same original fittings ?

Nothing wrong wth other makes or fittings

Mine are not a million miles off replacement.
Let us know what setup/solution you end up with.
