Title: 1981 CJ tachometer wore

Real long shot but does anyone know if the iron duke 151 engine has power and tachometer output as its 2 wires?

Done the swap to 360 and gone HEI but not sure if the original connections to the dizzy and can’t seem to find any information for it on google so thought one of you helpful souls night know

Not the answer I was looking for!!!

I’m wiring up the engine this weekend after extending endless amounts of wiring to suit new engine.
That’s if the new HEI works.....

A lot of strange words there compared to mine but good enough for me!

I’m not even sure the tach will work properly anyway as there is apparently a different one for v8 however if it gives an indication that will help.

Let’s just hope it starts

from what i learnt the cj tacho from the i6 is wired inline to the positive to the ignition switch/coil so works in a non conventional fashion. normal tacho feeds of the coil. the v8 is different to the 6 and most likely the 4 so you might have to find an original unit for the v8
