Title: ABS Light

Went to see Elton John in concert last week (I know , sad Bastard!).
On the way to the stadium had my ABS warning light come on. Stopped, turned off and on as per handbook and light went through normal checks and went out.
Now when I turn the ignition on, I don't even get the check light. Anyone got any idea's besides the obvious bulb gone?

Could be the bulb. Does the ABS work?

Is ther any easy way of telling without trying to create an all out skid?

Find a quiet straight stretch of road or a big empty car park and get up to about 30mph (ABS will not operate below a certain speed I think it is 20-25mph), apply the brakes as hard as you can.  You should feel a vibration as the ABS operates, if not you will just lock up the wheels.

Should work over 10mph., a bit of grass or gravel should do it.

Thanks Fella's. I'll give it a try if I get home early from work one evening. Of course I could always wait for it to rain!!

If all else fails check the bulb!!!!

Whoever designed the light cluster on the dash needs sh***ing. Fancy having to take the whole dash out just to change one tiny light bulb.

Only in a Jeep!!!!!!!!

I doubt it's "only Jeep"
I'm sure i'd have had to with the Jag I had and most other cars. If dashs are too easy to service, mileages would be easier to tamper with too. What they need is fibre optics...

You're probably right. Perhaps it's a job creation scheme to make you go to the stealership 'cos you can't be arsed with all the faffing about.

I used to work for an Italian company that built it's machines like that. Just depended what they could get at the local B & Q on the day they built the machine.

When I was changing the bulb, I managed to knock out the little bulb holder. To put that back I had to remove the instrument cluster, to get to the screws for that I had to take out the cigarette lighter and both the switch panels...........

Oh, the hip bone connected to the leg bone......and the leg bone connected to the knee bone............
