Title: Buggered water pump?
Post by: tim_aka_tim on June 11, 2006, 08:27:04 PM
Got to my XJ tonight to change me plugs, ran it for a bit after I'd done it, only to find that the water pump seems finally to have given up the ghost. Engine off, no leak, engine on, pissing water all over the drive quicker than I can put it in. Is it a fair suumption on my part that it is indeed the water pump?
Better get off my arse on this one, else no Clyro for me!

Well I went to the "Numpty School for Have a go mechanics" so it will probably take longer than that, but I SHALL be doing it this week!
Thanks for the tip though, I'll try local factors first.

Tim, I spotted this on the bay:

Thanks for that Peter, I'll keep them in mind if I struggle locally. There's nothing so sure than I will have one by tomorrow night!

Got it for 50 quid + vat...... and I get it this afternoon, so that's a relief.

Apparently so. Over the last 2 nights I've gradually replaced the water pump and I can't see any leaks, so I'm assuming the job is a guddun and I'm all set for Clyro  :D
I'm so proud of myself. As far as I'm concerned that was pretty major surgury!
