Title: Pressing Wheel Studs In
Post by: JamesH on October 08, 2006, 07:03:27 PM
Not too technical but what method is best or most suitable for the job of pressing studs into rear axle shafts?

I'm thinking clamp/vice with tubes/sockets etc. or should I book half an hour at my mate with a press?

A big hammer works or a press and or put them in the freezer over night to skink them a bit make life easier.

Youre not going to get enough pressure out of a vice. I have a punch with a recess machined which fits over the stud and makes things a bit easier.

BFH or Press  :smt023
