hi all prob with me xj hope u can help with . its on gas as well as petrol . my prob is it gets hot very quick like 5 mile and its up 2 100 on the temp gauge ,ive taken the thermostat out and changed the water pump but no change . looked 4 the useuall oil in water none .the kenlow cuts in . turn the heating on in side keeps it at a stable temp thought it might be head gasket but no tell tale signs thanks.

my 95 cheery has allwas run about the same as yours i aways though this way normal
it runs a bit hotter on lpg

You'll appreciate it in the winter, it demists quickly and heats the cab up nicely :)

have you checked the radiator is not full of crud, restricting the air flow through it.

My 93 XJ runs at about the same and also warms quickly.

try some Redline water wetter it really works.

thanks 4 the info sorry dident reply earlyer , so it wont do any harm then , standerd thing then, just looked up that redline water wetter. got some on order do u put the whole bottle in its half a litre thanks mike

Wrangler used to sit at 100 not matter what (Unless the rad is full of Crud).
Since the Kenlowe, it sits a little higher (as suggested in the instructions) if I am going slow or sitting in traffic. anything above 40 and she seems to sit at 100 anyway. I think if you try to keep her lower than this you've be running the Kenlowe all the time and burn it out eventually.
On the TJ, 100 is virtical on the temp gauge.
