Anyone know or can measure the backspacing of Bronco steel wheels.
Thanks, James

Ive used this before to work out offsets but it shows you how to work out backspace as well
-
i think you will find that they are 3.75inch backspacing.
-
think the standard rims are 4.50inch. like i say you would have to double check but i think that is about right.
-
Standard Jeep Rims XJ/TJ/YJ are 5.25" backspacing.
-
Yup, for an 8" rim it'll stick out 2" more than the stock 7" rim. On an XJ that's time to start trimming the front wings, especially if you fit 31s.

I'm getting a set as a swap for some Jeep alloys I have, I guess I'll just have to see what needs trimming and get on with it.
At least it'll push the wheels out a bit and by moving the flares up I should be able to get quite good flex.

You will need quite a lot with that backspace as I ripped front flare off and bent wing with 31's with 1" spacers at woodlands, also you will need wider flares as 1" extra is on limit of standard flares.
you need to add more to bumpstops too.
should look good though.
see you at Hogmore Darren.

I've got Bronco Dayonas and 31s on. I'll be at Hogmoor, you'll see what I mean.

I'd be interested to have a look Mike, I'm thinking trimming the metal work and moving the plastic flare up to the body line?? They seem to do this as a minimum over the pond.
-
Wrangler flares look awesome on cherries, Tank (Mickharv) had Bushwacker pocket flares on his old XJ, they looked really tough and weren't too bad to fit.
-
I like the Wrangler rear flareas all around on an XJ but seeing Ponyracer's with 33" MT/Rs and how small it made them look I think it would make a smaller tyre look odd.
Maybe that's a good reason to get the 34" Simex JTs I fancy!!??!

Mick's XJ was an absolute animal although she was badly neglected. It's a shame I never got her back on the road. KD was telling me she ended up in a scrap yard in Glouster.
