Title: Tyre width vs. rim width?
Post by: JamesH on October 27, 2006, 05:57:55 PM
Just going through ideas but wondered if it is possible to mount an 11.5" tyre on a 7" rim?

Would it help to have more sidewall? E.g. would a 34x11.5 15 be more suitable for this than a 32x11.5 15.

What would the downsides be running tyres like this??

I know that recommended rim width should be 8-10", but just tossing ideas around.

Cheers, James.  :)

You may have to play with the air pressure to get them to wear properly. I'm running a 12.5 on an 8" rim so it's pretty much the same. DON'T go any wider than 11.5 though.
