On my XJ it's the low level light for the washer bottle. I found it to be a compulsive liar so i disconnected it 8)

Yep it is the washer bottle low indicator.  I have left mine connected as it only starts to flash on hard accel/deccel or cornering when it about 2/3 empty.  A good reminder to top it off next stop.

there is another that is in red located up and to the left. this is for the water collected in the bottom of the fuel filter that needs emptying

A couple of days ago I come home from work and the misses is poking a pin in the washer jets on her 306. She says "Can't get these working, they seem to be blocked" I replied "Go and make us a cuppa, I'll sort them out". You can guess the rest, I put some fecking water in for her. She's normally quite sensible when it comes to vehicles and fluids etc. I'll put the lapse down to it being a new car for her.
