Maybe he's gone over to the dark side, don't Defenders have a 1.4:1 and Discos a 1.2:1 High Range.

Interesting though. If you want to go up a couple of tyre sizes, then why not leave the R&Ps alone, do the T/C 4:1 low range conversion for off roading, and also lower the T/C high ratio a tad. Got to be easier / cheaper hasn't it?

It would work, certainly, but it leaves the R&P to do all the work. Changing the diff gearing keeps the transmission with no more stress than it was designed to deal with.
As far as I know, its not possible to change the High Ratio in the 231 T/C.
The Teralow kit changes the planetary gearset and 2WD & 4WD High stay as they were.
