Title: saggy springs

Hi my leaf springs are t00shed any idea what a new set will cost me?

Also depending on price Id like to fit a lift kit maybe 3 or 4 inch .....any recomendations ??

Looking thought your old posts, looks like you need XJ rear leaves. When I got the TD springs and associated hardware from Lighthouse, it was about £235 delivered I think. Thats springs, U-bolts, nuts and washers.

A lift won't cost you much more (relatively). Asking what the best lift kit is, is like asking what the best colour is - we'll argue til we're blue in the face!

You can see that my Rusty's 4½" lift flexes nice from my avatar. It was about £750 delivered. I can only give an opinion on the kit I own, but others to look out for are Rubicon Express and Skyjacker (there are many more). Have a look at Quadratec and 4WD.
Skyjacker kits are quite soft, and are probably most like the ride of the standard XJ.

Pretty hard. It's not as hard as the Ranger (but that does have ½ ton springs either side), but it's quite a bit stiffer than standard. Still, mine's a weekend plaything, so it's the off-road performance that counts, and for that, I am impressed by my lift. (I know it surprised a few others too  :wink: )

mm thats the problem for me im more of a soft roader 10 times a year max      was looking in ur album there what was the 2" kit you had looks like a fair bit of lift there . more than ill ever need

The oldest pic in my album is when I had TD springs on the back and standard on the front. Tyres were 235/75R15. Looks bigger than it was.
If you like a nice ride, and not quite as high, then Chris's 3" Skyjacker is lovely on the road and good off it. Perhaps he'll be along in a bit.

The 3" skyjacker lift is a nice bit of kit.  Plenty of room for 31" tyres and flexes nice off road.

I use Barbie as a daily drive and am more than happy with her.  She's certainly stiffer than stock but in a good way.  The one thing I did notice was the on road handling improved after i removed the rear anti-roll bar!

The best thing to do is replace the leaves with decent uprated or diesel ones. Mansfield 4x4 do a good set for a good price and cheap P&P http://http://www.mansfieldmotorsltd.co.uk You will see a masive improvment.

My 2" lift kit came from Rocky Roads and cost about £75 plus shipping. I would highly recomend buying from the US as the exchange rates are great at the mo. I can highly recomend both Lighthouse and Explorer Pro Comp for springs and lift kits as well though.

Just don't make the mistake I did. I got new springs, and then shortly after, I fitted the lift, bit of a waste really. I was gonna fit shackles and pucks to the stocks springs, but they just don't flex that well, and if a job's worth doing, it's worth doing right! Again though, it depends on your budget and what you'll use it for - mine's just for froadin'.

Good price, good ride (after it's flexed). If you have a YJ, a 3-1/2" lift kit will yield 4" or slightly more. Very popular in the states.

Bob Supplee in Moore, Oklahoma is one supplier BUT, he doesn't use a web site, only phone. I'm not sure what that does for ya. I think Quadratec in PA http://www.quadratec.com (http://www.quadratec.com)  http://www.quadratec.com/products/produ ... 123&cv=400 (http://www.quadratec.com/products/product_search.php?pg=1&cn=Lift+Kits&c=123&cv=400)  may supply BDS. Usually, any of the after market leafs will give you a better ride that stock, accept Pro Comp!!

With stock suspension, I thought I'd have to visit a chiropractor every time I ran over a grasshopper.

I'm with toastie, i've got a BDS aal +2" kit. it hasn't sagged yet :cry:
