Help,
I am looking at buying a trolley jack and some axle stands so i can lift the jeep on the drive and get the wheels off so i can do various bits but was thinking that it might not be the best thing.
Will axle stands work with a lifted jeep? will the trolley jack work that high or will i still need to put a block of wood on it?
My jeep has a 3.5" lift and a set of 33 tyres on.
basically i want to lift if safely and be able to sit there comfortably for a while with no wheel on etc!

They will if you buy BIG ones!

And what is a big one? :?

There are 4x4 high lift jacks you can buy but they arent so good for lifted jeeps.I use a hi-lift jack to raise my jeep, then blocks underneath although some big heavy duty axles stands will do as long as they have the reach, perhaps lorry ones. You could try a big bottle jack as well as these raise to a good height

Get yourself down to Machine Mart, they done some big axle stands

std axles stands are not high enough, even with blocks the stands will be almost on maximum and that is not a good idea. (been there done it). fitting 3.5" of lift on std axle stands is not fun

Machine Mart 3 Tonne Axle stands and 3 Tonne Trolley jack. Get yerself down on one of their VAT Free days, save a few pennies.
Used on Asylums 4" Lift etc
Some good bocks of Reclaimed wood can give you that extra height if needed. We normally stack the tyres under the Belly plate if left for a long period. Just for a bit extra safety.
