Title: Battery Drain

Ok here is one for someone who is a cherokee buff!
Got a problem with the battery going flat on my 1994 cherokee 4.0L stealth.
The battery will go flat after approx 5 days, the time I leave it standing for regulary.
I have a 0.2A drain at the battery, 0.06A of which is attributed to the alarm, leaving me with a 0.14A drain. This is coming off the I.O.D, (ignition off drain) fuse at the front fuse box.
The problem I have is I need to trace where this goes supply wise and eliminate it.
Any one got a wiring diagram for this circuit, it doesn't seem to be in the Haynes manual diagrams.

0.2A shouldn't drain a good battery in 5 days, so check this out first.

fully charge the battery then leave it disconected for a week then see if it is still charged it may not be holding its charge anyway

pain in the bum isnt it, very inconvenient. I had a similar prob, got to the stage where i was swapping batterys just about every morning to get to work :oops:   (caught it in the act one night).
 
sorry but god knows what yours is, its such a little/slow drain it cant be something as obvious as that, have you tried it with a different battery??

Tell me about it, i suspect that the 0.2A drain is just the start of it, I have been through the swapping batteries every week thing, keeping one on charge and one in use. The alternator charges at 14v, so no prob there.
The only thing is I only go about 4 miles a week in it, so a small drain like that prob would diminish the battery, with such short trips and a clifford alarm it prob only just about replaces the charge taken by starting it up by the time I switch off.
Its just this circuit I.O.D in the front fuse box I was curious about the consumers for this fuse?

The IOD fuse feeds several circuits fused in the box under the dash. Stuff like central locking, radio, clock etc. Stuff that needs to be powered when the ignition is off. Try pulling fuses under the dash while the IOD fuse is in and see what effect it has.

Have you got electric seats, if so on mine had batt probs and eventualy found under the passengers seat that the connnector had disolved or near enough. Soldered together and no probs since (touch wood   )

Have you put new stereo in it ?
If you have spliced into the perminent live to use stereo when parked it tends to make all things on that circuit live fan,windscrean wipers in my case only sussed it out when came home in rain walked away from jeep with keys in hand wipers were still working, also fan was on .
Rewired with switched live sorted, no more drain.

Thanks for all the suggestions, it does sound more like the stereo, it had a lot of electrical faults which the previous owner had looked into. I checked under the dash and its a right mess!
Need to take a day to look into it properly.
